If you are like any normal person….this is what your spice cupboard looks like on any given day. Let’s be honest, as long as the door shuts, no one cares right? Well…until you are making dinner and it falls on your head, and you end up in the ER with a concussion. Here are a few steps that made organizing this cupboard a breeze, and… will prevent future headaches.
- Empty the entire cupboard and wipe it down.
- Throw out anything that has expired and consolidate like spices.
- Determine how many small spices you have and would like to keep.
4. Drive your cute self to IKEA to grab these cute little containers at a steal of a deal! http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40064702/ (or buy something similar) online.
5. Fill them with your smaller spices.
6. Click on over to pinterest and print off your favorite free spice labels. Pinterest is “peppered” with free spice labels! You can print them off on sticker paper or regular paper and punch them out.
7. Pick up some larger glass jars at Wal-Mart. If you notice, in the before picture there are some spices in larger containers with typically red or black lids. Wal-Mart sells the glass jars in the after picture ranging from a few dollars to a little over $5. The small jars are perfect for some of those larger spices.
8. The jars on the top shelf now house things like cake decorating supplies, sprinkles, etc. that were previously smashed in the small tote in the before picture.
Now….that’s nice!
